As an intern in Florida, you must complete 1500 client contact hours under the guidance of a Qualified Supervisor within 100 weeks. You are required to have supervision every 2 weeks, with at least 50% being individual or paired. Registered Interns must finish the licensure process within 5 years of registration.
Shantara is an approved clinical supervisor in Florida for Registered Clinical Social Work Interns pursuing their counseling license. She offers individual and dyadic supervision to interns seeking licensure. Shantara's supervision approach is rooted in humanistic principles, considering the supervisee's developmental stage. Her method focuses on holistic development, enhancing self-awareness, teaching techniques, diagnosis, treatment, and clinical consultation.

Shantara Bussey-Martin has been in Behavioral Health since 2016, completing an Advanced Standing MSW program at Florida International University in 2018. She has diverse clinical experience with various populations and evidence-based treatments, including TF-CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, TCI, and MI. Her expertise spans individual and group counseling in settings like mental health clinics, jail intervention programs, and residential facilities, focusing on mental health, crisis intervention, substance use, domestic violence, and psychosocial assessment.
Supervisor's Practice:
Shantara practices collaborative, humanistic supervision, focusing on personal awareness, counseling skills, and professional conduct.
