As with a physical wound, it is vulnerable and scary to open up a psychological wound and expose all the feelings, emotions, and thoughts connected to a past stressful experience.

Healing looks different for each person because each memory and how the brain stores it is a unique and personal experience.

The first session of therapy often focuses on gathering information. I will speak with the person in treatment about their past physical, mental, and emotional health. In our early sessions, we will develop a multi-layered understanding of your presenting concerns. As therapy progresses, we may examine specific stressors or traumas, behavioral patterns, interpersonal relationships, and cultural or family influences. It can take a few sessions for a therapist to have a good understanding of the situation. Only then can I address concerns and determine the best course of action.
My aim will be to increase clarity and self-understanding, self-trust, and groundedness. As individuals begin accomplishing therapy goals, a feeling of being energized and a sense of freedom usually arises.
To get the best help possible, you must provide as much information as possible. You can only speak for yourself even when you think you know what someone else might say or do. Because you are the expert on your life, what a therapist thinks you should do, is not the issue. With a counselor’s guidance through effective questioning, you will discover what is best for you and/or your relationships. Bottom-line, you are expected to do the work with the therapist’s help.
Together we will pinpoint unhelpful interactional patterns and find new and creative ways to resolve problems. I provide guidance for clients to better understand themselves, their families, social relationships, and the connection between their Thoughts' Emotions, and Actions. I encourage clients to revisit old perceptions and assumptions to help break destructive patterns, improve communication, and move forward in a meaningful and positive way.

Teletherapy, What is that?
Teletherapy or Telehealth is a form of video conferencing allowing psychiatrists and therapists to provide services to patients outside of the office. For example, online sessions are held from the safety of your own home, workplace or anywhere you have a Web connection that you find it convenient for you through our easy scheduling platform.
Studies show clients participating in telehealth are very satisfied with the care they are receiving and feel it's a reliable form of practice. In addition, they find that they are able to keep their appointments on a more regular basis.
Sometimes, it is not always practical or possible to meet a therapist in person for face-to-face counseling. We are able to meet your need for remote assistance using phone, tablet, or a laptop. We are just as committed to you and working with you as we would be if you saw you in person.
YES! We ensure the interaction between the patient and therapist is completely secure and HIPAA compliant. The teleconferencing software encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio.
Benefits Teletherapy provides the patient with benefits that may lead to better care. We understand it can be difficult to take time off from your busy schedule to come to an office. This form of treatment can eliminate your commute time and lead to less stress, especially when you are scheduled to see your therapist often. This form of treatment allows you to still keep your appointment without interrupting your day.
Well that's simple! For your appointment, you will need to have access to a private place and a computer/tablet/smartphone with a camera and high speed internet.
